Wood has many important uses and we do need it, but we also need to understand the big picture and be thoughtful when choosing what trees to cut down. Did you know that toilet paper is made from trees? Products like that can be made from recycled paper or alternate materials like bamboo and hemp and not from 80-year-old trees. Some paper (like toilet paper) is made from bamboo, which is a grass, and sugar cane, which is easy to grow.
By choosing recycled products and alternative materials we can support the life of trees. Many people don’t fully understand the problem. Let’s educate our community! Maybe it is convenient to buy giant packages of toilet paper, but with a little more planning and thoughtful choices, we can make a big difference for our Earth for years to come.
