Lesson #1 – Bio-di-WHAT-sity?

Just imagine if you had an entire box of paints with all of the colors and you made beautiful rainbows. You could paint the trees green and the flowers every color, the water blue and the sky at sunset, and a million other colors that you see in the world and under the sea.

Then imagine the colors started running out. So that you couldn’t paint certain things. You ran out of yellow, so you couldn’t make greens any more, or browns or oranges. And the trees became grey and there were no bright colored fish, and everything was just kind of flat and dark. Just because the world ran out of that one very important color and then other colors started to disappear.

This is because we need every color to have the beautiful world that we have.  And just like we need every color we need every living thing to have the beautiful HEALTHY world we have.  All living things depend on each other. From an ant to an elephant. From a worm to a rhinoceros. From a coral to a shark.  Every single thing is important because nature designed it that way.
